2027 RAM 1500 Crew Cab Review
The 2027 RAM 1500 Crew Cab combines the capability of a full-size pickup with a spacious cabin designed for passengers, work, and everyday driving. Compared with the Quad Cab, the Crew Cab provides significantly more rear-seat legroom, making it a practical choice for families, work crews, and drivers who regularly carry adult passengers.
With two available bed lengths, multiple trim levels, and a range of configurations, the RAM 1500 Crew Cab can be tailored to different needs, from daily driving to work and recreational use. This guide covers the RAM 1500 Crew Cab's dimensions, bed sizes, weight ratings, available trims, and pricing to help you compare configurations.
Dimensions
The 2027 RAM 1500 Crew Cab is available with either a 5'7" or 6'4" pickup box, giving shoppers a choice between additional cargo capacity and a more compact overall configuration. The longer bed provides more room for hauling cargo, while the shorter bed can offer a more manageable overall truck length. Exterior dimensions vary by configuration and trim.
Interior Dimensions
The Crew Cab's biggest advantage over the Quad Cab is its additional rear-seat space. The 2027 RAM 1500 Crew Cab provides 45.2 inches of rear legroom, giving passengers substantially more room to stretch out.
| Interior Measurement | RAM 1500 Crew Cab |
|---|---|
| Front Legroom | 40.9 in. |
| Rear Legroom | 45.2 in. |
| Front Shoulder Room | 66.0 in. |
| Rear Shoulder Room | 65.7 in. |
| Passenger Volume | Up to 132 cu. ft. |
The additional rear-seat room makes the Crew Cab particularly useful when the second row is used regularly. For shoppers who frequently carry passengers, it offers a more spacious alternative to the Quad Cab.
Exterior Dimensions
The overall size of the RAM 1500 Crew Cab depends on the selected bed and configuration. Both configurations are approximately 81.2 inches wide before accounting for mirrors.
| Configuration | Approx. Length | Bed Length |
|---|---|---|
| Crew Cab, 5'7" Box | 232.4 in. | 67.4 in. |
| Crew Cab, 6'4" Box | 241.3 in. | 76.3 in. |
Actual dimensions can vary by trim, drivetrain, wheel, and tire configuration.
Weight Specifications
The weight of a RAM 1500 Crew Cab varies by engine, drivetrain, trim, equipment, and bed configuration. For example, the RAM 1500 RHO has a 7,800-pound GVWR and 1,510-pound maximum payload due to its specialized off-road equipment and high-output powertrain.
When comparing configurations, consider curb weight, GVWR, payload, and towing capacity together to determine the truck's overall carrying and towing capabilities.
Bed Options and Dimensions
The Crew Cab offers two bed sizes, depending on trim and configuration:
- 5'7" Box: Measures 67.4 inches in length and provides 53.9 cubic feet of cargo volume in the standard configuration. The available RamBox Cargo Management System reduces usable bed volume to 40.6 cubic feet while adding lockable, weather-resistant storage compartments.
- 6’4” Box: Extends to 76.3 inches in length with a cargo volume of 61.5 cubic feet.
Both options provide a minimum width of around 50 inches between wheel wells and bed depths exceeding 21 inches for secure cargo storage.
